Grubers celebrate 50th anniversary

Jack and Dorothy Gruber of Poland were honored for their 50th anniversary at a family dinner at Springfield Grille. They renewed their vows earlier at Holy Family Church. They also celebrated on a Mediterranean cruise.

The former Dorothy Ruggiero married Mr. Gruber on Aug. 22, 1964, at St. Rose Church in Girard.

They have three children, Neil Gruber of Poland, Kelli (John) Anderson of Canfield and Dr. Brian (Traci) Gruber of New Castle, Pa. They have five grandchildren, Lauren, Alyssa and Kyle Anderson, and Jacob and Abigail Gruber.

Mrs. Gruber was an x-ray technician. Mr. Gruber earned a bachelor's and master's degree from Youngstown State University and holds a doctorate in metallurgy from Kennedy Western University.

He retired from Wheatland Tube Co., where he was director of technical services. He currently serves as president of the Mahoning County Board of Developmental Disabilities.
