Bucks of Canfield to celebrate 50th anniversary with family in October

Mr. and Mrs. James Harold and Marilu Buck of Canfield were married 50 years ago on Oct. 24, 1964, at SS. Cyril & Methodius Roman Catholic Church in Youngstown.

The couple had four children, Patricia Ann (Christopher) Chiaro of Chesapeake, Va., Gregory James (Heidi) Buck of Poland, Richard Paul (Sandra) Buck of Delaware, Ohio, and Christopher Michael (Meghan) Buck of Poland.

They also have nine grandchildren, Lyndzie Marie and Stephanie Ann Chiaro of Chesapeake, Va., Andrew Gregory and Ashley Nicole Buck of Poland, Marina Elima, Shelby Eileen and Carly Elizabeth Buck of Delaware, Ohio, and Caden Patrick and Delaney Liliana Buck of Poland.

In the past years, Marilu and James hosted nine foreign exchange students from Brazil, Germany, Central America and Belarus.

Mrs. Buck is a homemaker who also enjoys going to water aerobics at the Ursuline Mother House in Canfield and toiling with her flowers in their yard.

Mr. Buck was in the U.S. Army and National Guard, retired in 1999 after working for 42 years at General Motors in Lordstown, bowls in leagues at Amron Lanes in Canfield, Boardman Lanes in Boardman and Holiday Bowl in Struthers. Also, for 62 years, Mr. Buck has been working as a gateman at the Canfield Fair.

Their children and spouses are hosting, by invitation, a 50th anniversary party in their honor on Oct. 25.
