Father-son night features experiments
March 17, 2017

Mad science slime. Computer science coding. Static electricity relay races. And an egg drop engineering challenge. These were just some of the stations set up for a special father-son night at Dobbins Elementary School, a first-time "experiment" for the school.

The Dobbins parent-teacher organization sponsored "My Son is a Mad Scientist" March 9 with third- and fourth-graders and their dads or guardians.

It was a great opportunity for boys to discover the challenging fun of science experiments, and dads enjoyed the spark created by working together on these fun projects.

"We had 120 signed up for the event," PTO volunteer Stephanie Twyford said.

Twyford along with Lori Casey and Megan Daley, put together the fun evening by setting up science stations all over the school.

The event also was captured for the father-son teams through a photograph, which was taken and then placed in a special photo frame.
