Austintown Food Service Department releases updated meal distribution plan
April 1, 2020

Austintown Local Schools have created a new procedure for meal package pickup. Meal distribution will take place only on Mondays from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., while supplies last, at the Austintown Elementary School back parking lot.

There is a two meal package limit per vehicle. Cars should enter the lot via the Raccoon Road entrance by the public library, and exit via the Idaho Road exit between AES and AIS.

Meal packages are free for students ages 1 to 18. The Austintown Police Department will be present at the entrance and throughout the campus to help direct traffic. With the recent USDA flexibilities, students do not need to be present; parents may pick up the meals for their students.

Meal packages are first come first serve and there is a limited amount of meal packages that will be prepared. When all the meal packages are distributed, service will conclude. Meals packages will continue to have five breakfasts and five lunches in each bag. Packages will be distributed on a weekly basis every Monday. Per USDA guidance, there will be no distribution on April 13, as that Monday falls in the previously scheduled spring break.

Meal package pick up is at Austintown Elementary School in the back parking lot. Parents must enter the school campus at Raccoon Road near the public library. Other driveways on campus will be blocked to prohibit entering from different locations.
